102,000 Crayons For Children’s Hospital

Thank you again to everyone who helped and participated in the 2016 Project Crayon Drive to benefit Children’s Hospital of Seattle. And a special shout out to our friends at KMPS for showing up with their truck and some added man-power to help us load up and deliver this morning. This year we collected just over 102,000 crayons for this wonderful event. Everyone’s time and effort really goes a long way and all of our sponsors, participants and everyone who took the time to donated arte appreciated far more than mere words can ever express!

The Cascade Team Is Ten Years Old Today!

It’s hard to believe that 10 years ago today I told my managing broker at John L Scott that I was leaving and going to start my own brokerage. Back then I had a different business partner named David Field, Doug Young still didn’t have a real estate license, Lori Young was my stager and believe it or not… Zillow only cost $25 per month!

Fast forward to today and here we sit with 25 offices in 5 states (with more to come soon) with several hundred brokers out there doing amazing things.

Positive News for Buyers as Housing Inventory Improves/ Sellers NOW is the Time Before Competition Continues to Increase!

Housing inventory improves, but market still favors sellers

KIRKLAND, Washington (May 5, 2016) – Northwest Multiple Listing Service reported strong gains in the volume of new listings its members added during April (up 13.6 percent from March), but inventory remained well below the supply needed for a more balanced market. MLS leaders say the lopsided market is prompting some anxious buyers to take ill-advised risks.

Prices showed some signs of moderating with a 5.5 percent year-over-year increase across the MLS 23-county market area. That’s the lowest YOY gain since December 2014 when it was 5.45 percent.

In its latest statistics with summaries of April activity, the MLS reported 11,407 pending sales during the month, about the same as a year…

Project Crayon Drive walk-around and collection starts this weekend.

Beginning this weekend April the 23rd and continuing through next weekend April 30th and May 1st members and partners with The Cascade Team Real Estate will be walking local neighborhoods and setting up booths at many local QFC and Fred Meyer locations along with several other participating businesses like the IGA at Snoqualmie Ridge, HomeStreet Bank in The Issaquah Highlands and more. Radio spots can also be heard on Star 101.5 and KOMO News 1000 to help bring awareness to this wonderful event. Please be on the lookout for our agents. There will also be volunteers from several of our partners and a platoon of High School students from Eastside Catholic helping out and getting Community Service hours.

For the 11th year, The Cascade Team is once again hosting Project Crayon Drive this April! For the young who find themselves at Seattle Children’s Hospital, sometimes the simple things like a coloring book and a few crayons can be as soothing as the trained staff and smiling doctors. Yet, something as simple as crayons often goes overlooked. Each year, Children’s Hospital goes through over 240,000 crayons, but each child only gets a couple to use.

And that’s where The Cascade Team — in partnership with the Children’s Hospital Guild Association and several area merchants — comes in. Throughout the month of April, agents from The Cascade Team will be walking neighborhoods and spreading the word about…

One home I showed my client in Inman, S.C., gave us a chill. When we arrived, the house was dark and apparently empty. After I flipped on the light switch in the living room, we headed to the bedrooms in the back of the house. Sammamish: Hidden Haven of the Home-Based Business

There are between 3,500 and 4,000 home-based businesses in the 50,000-resident city. “It really is the American dream,” said Deb Sogge, executive director of the chamber. “Our home-based businesses are very eclectic and very interesting. We just have a lot of entrepreneurs here in Sammamish.”

Sammamish’s residential businesses include an Etsy store selling abstract paintings (Betty Krause Art) and an in-home wine cellar complete with tasting room (Fivash Cellars). Sogge said Sammamish’s proximity to large tech companies means the city boasts a high population of college educated, tech-savvy citizens (more than 70 percent of residents have at least a bachelor’s degree), which contributes to the quality of Sammamish’s home…
